My First Writing Conference

I live on a Carribean island, so it's hard to connect with writers in person. In October 2014, I took the plunge and attended my first writing conference. I chose the New Jersey Romance Writer's conference. It's a large regional conference and close to NYC, so it had high attendance from agents and editors. The craft sessions were mostly geared to adult romance and it would have been great to have a couple of YA sessions, but overall, it was an amazing experience. Everyone was very friendly and supportive, even the NYT bestselling authors. If I can swing it, I will be heading back again this year. Living on an island, it's also a perfect time to get some Christmas shopping done!
